It's about time for the August newsletter goes out--before August is over (grin!).  The Tumbleweed Festival is this weekend, and last week we also had the pleasure of attending the Gig Harbor Folk festival for the first time.  Fantastic line up, great workshop opportunities, good folks running the event, and not too much rain--it was about 24 hours of music total in a two day stretch.  Mmmmm.  Loved it.

We spent a morning at the Gig Harbor Festival with Cliff Eberhart learning about songwriting.  He's both funny and insightful, and quick with an option for improving, or even reviving a song.  One nugget from him is that the writer's job is to lead the listener through the song so they know what's next.  They know that this is the chorus, that we are about to enter the next verse, that we are nearing the end.  And he showed us how to accomplish that in real concrete ways.

Now, here we go into fall, with a project to bring to completion (the collage auction for Michael  Carlos), and another party in October.  Get out your calendar!!
